Disguised in plain sight (The story of sugar)
I have a question for everyone reading this. As of now without checking can you tell me how much sugar intake you have throughout the day ?. If like most people your answer is no then you have a lot to worry about you might just be taking in more sugar than it is intended or displayed according to your product of choice. Let's see your favorite products and their sugar levels. A lot of heartbreaks are gonna happen today but it's for your betterment.
We will go through most of the common products and then in the end a general guideline on how to figure out the risky products. The first product is the all-time favorite of children which many parents endorse too. That is
The one and only child's favorite sports drink is milo. I mean how cool does it look like a sporty child on the front label playing a healthy sport such as football, cricket, table tennis, badminton. Which parent would deny this awesome energy and growth for their children no? The advertisements are soo attractive A kid falling on the ground or cannot run fast enough and one glass of MILO makes him run like Usain Bolt is nothing. But little do we pay attention to the back label of it which I will shed some light on today.
Notice how they highlight the protein section that is to throw you off the leave the sugar at last so you won't pay attention that is 9.3-grams sugar per serving You will be wondering what does 9.3-gram sugar look like?
OH no if you thought this is 9 grams I am sorry to break it to you. It is just 7.5-grams of sugar and that is per serving and there are actually what like 2 servings of Milo per day on average to children and even more at times. Which by a little bit of math makes what 40 percent of milo is just sugar. See this for reference.
This is how much sugar we are looking at. In a whole tub of Milo. I hope this does provide and insight into how much “SPORTSY” this drink is.
2: Nutella
Who here doesn't love Nutella? The world-famous Ferrero rocher Walnut-themed chocolate Now notice the word I used themed. I used that word because it's not actually walnut and neither chocolate that you are eating sorry to break it to you Nutella fans. Heartbreaks did happen right here right now
The hazelnut “THEMED” CHOCOLATE spread is actually palm oil that you are eating. Palm oil itself is not bad but the amount used in Nutella is kind of overgrown. Now let's just refer to the back label of Nutella and see the sugar serving of Nutella.
Well if you look at that it's 21 grams per serving. Let's see it in a picture why not?
That is how much sugar you are intaking with each serving of Nutella. let me tell you these are 2 servings that are normal in households which means this is 42 grams of sugar and health institutions say on average 25 grams is a reasonable intake of sugar for a normal human being.
3:DIET COKE
The cleverest of them all is coke zero the advertisement just makes you drink it like it doesn't do anything like it's just water.
ZERO SUGAR, ZERO CALORIES. So saint of them to keep this so healthy. And so intelligent of coke to hide it in the back label too if I wasn't the one researching I would have missed it for sure too. I want to show you the back label how good it looks or rephrases how healthy it looks.
Looks so healthy that I myself would drink it. I drank it too had a question at that time if there is no sugar in it how is it soo sweet. Is it some kind of magic so I went to work and Coca Cola we gave me the answer right away themselves. Just a simple search of coke zero ingredients.
Wait I will just point out one thing is that ASPARTAME that I see up there. Aspartame on a simple google search will tell you it's an artificial sweetener that is 200 times stronger than sugar. 200 TIMES and it happens to be a drug too. You will ask why is it a drug?. The simple answer is
“The consumption of aspartame, unlike dietary protein, can elevate the levels of phenylalanine and aspartic acid in the brain. These compounds can inhibit the synthesis and release of neurotransmitters, dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, which are known regulators of neurophysiological activity”
Thank you National Library of Medicine for the info.
Side effects of aspartame include:
3:lupus
4:Siezures
5:Depression(because of elevated brain activity)
Identifying on own:
